Scrapped
This article contains characters and/or events that are from scrapped games or were cut in development from finished games.

Mad Mind was a Teaser Game-turned full-fledge game, made by Tyler Ahlström. It was scrapped along with the rest of TRTF Volume 2.

It was thought to have been permanently cancelled with Tyler even stating as such. However in 2021-2022, the Kriya Studios website had showcased a new "MaD MiND" logo. This would indicate the project has been revived and will be going in a more modern direction that ties in with the rest of the Kriya Studios projects.

Development History[]

The game began as Teaser Game 8, but Tyler took it in a new direction, making it a RPG/Platformer game related to TRTF Vol 2. The game was cancelled as quickly as it was announced. It was last mentioned in Tyler's 2nd Tycrazmania Dev Blog, where he said it was cancelled for good, until recently he stated on his Twitter that Mad Mind was "on his list of things to do." Someone also found a picture of all his new games, And Mad Mind was on it.

On March 9th, 2019, Toonster released an old demo of Mad Mind labeled as version 0.1.4, from around August 2016. On March 30th, 2019, Toonster released another old demo, labeled as version 0.10, from precisely August 16th, 2016.

Gameplay[]

Upon pressing start, the player is told the story from the beginning of The Dreadful Truth, where 3 patients are put into robotic bodies to be kept safe from a super disease. The player is then put into an unfinished overworld that seems to be a carnival with a Ferris wheel and a tent, although the player cannot interact with anything. Upon pressing the "1" key, the player is sent to an unfinished battle against a boss named "Apparition." The player can attack the boss or heal themselves, although neither the boss nor the player can die. Alternatively, pressing "2" in the overworld takes the player to the final boss, which is a battle against a monster that looks sort of like Lockjaw called "Creator." It plays similarly to the fight against Apparition, although the player now can roam around freely. Pressing the Spacebar in either of these battles takes the player to the game over screen. By pressing "B F P" in the overworld, a character sprite would appear in front of the ferris wheel, which then leads the game to crash.

Trivia[]

  • One of the soundtracks might be titled after Apparition, also known as Lynda.
